At the Corner of Twitter & Facebook

"Good afternoon everyone! It is great to be here at the Dodge County Career Day. Let's get started. Take out your phones and log into your twitter or facebook accounts."
You can imagine the stunned reactions. A few reached for their phones immediately--they didn't want to pass up this opportunity. A few more were very hesitant......their expressions screamed, "Is she serious, crazy? A little of both?"
It isn't often enough that we give students a chance to learn in the world in which they live. Teaching Social Media Branding was a great opportunity to let students explore how to best promote their image online! Presenting social media through a different lens opened their eyes on how to market themselves for future employers and colleges.
"Would someone who meets you in person think you are the same person online?" Thinking about posts, retweets, favorites, and likes, students saw how their online image is molded. Giving them a new perspective gave them a new power. They now are ready to set the record straight. They know that they BEHAVE their way to a great brand. They don't TALK their way there. Their behaviors online now will have a new slant......a positive online image slant!
